at the baseball game Thursday night. Seems like a pretty nice guy.

He looks fairly young to me, maybe mid thirties. Hear he runs a multiple set and a spread. That will be a first for Sinton. Don't believe we've ever run a true multiple set before. Could get interesting.

(Of course, everyone looks young to me. :D)

Sign of aging:

You refer to people in their mid-thirties as "fairly young"...:D :p

Ok ok...I get what you're saying...it's not like you said "really young"!

I wonder how many teams in high school DON'T run the spread anymore...it seems like the days of I-Form and Wing-T are coming to an end.

How many state champs from this past year ran an offense besides the spread? Multiple state champs.

Last years preseaon schedule really took a toll on the boys, as far as injuries are concerned. I'm not sure if it would be a good idea right now. Sinton hasn't played Calallen since 1998, if I remember correctly. Calallen won that game 14-0 in a defensive showdown.

Your program has improved drastically since then lol. Cuero I believe was the only 3A we played after 95. we went 3-1 against em. they got us the last year in 99 I believe.

I think piratebg is refering to last time in 4a game matchup when Sinton was 4a 1984 or 85?

Nope because I didn't move to Sinton until 1992. I'll have to double check what game I'm thinking about then. I did find the Calallens Football record dating back to 1944 I think. Historically speaking, Cal is 12-7-1 vs the Pirates.

Too true. It would have been neat so see how the two teams faired against each other from about 98-05

Pretty sure Sinton would have won in 2001, maybe even 2002. That was a very talented bunch of Pirates.

Sinton was better in '01 than '02. Had much more speed on offense and defense.

I have not met the new AD/Coach yet, but did see him at the Baseball game as well, so I guess he has officially started.
Hopefully he gets the support needed from both the school and the community to be successful.
It would also help if some of the kids that didn't play this year decide to play next year. I would think that he is going to find those kids and try to encourage them to play again. That could be a big difference maker if they choose to play again.

I wish him and his staff good luck.

I have now come to the conclusion that I have no idea what game I'm thinking about. I've gone through my year books, a pitcher of margarita, and several hours of sleep and I'm starting to think I made the whole thing up.

In the last 4 years, we're 2-2 with them. Dunno about next season.

Actually, Sinton is 3-2 with them since the renewed rivalry.

I can't rememer exaxt scores, but here goes. We won the first one like 15-7 or somthing like that. They won the next to by pretty much the same score, thirty-something to 7-ish, and we won the last two 28-7 and 17-0.
