we beat columbia last night, tough game in the end. i dont know everyones record for sure but i think this is them:

Needville 7-1
Columbus 6-2
Sweeny 4-3 (play saturday)
Columbia 3-5
Stafford 1-7
Sealy 1-7
Royal 0-8

Someone vandalized Sweeny's Field combined with the rain they had earlier in the week

I doubt they will play tomorrow night with the cold weather and rain forecast

Don't know, just heard about it. Feel badly for Coach Carter & the kids. Sweeny really needs a new field & maybe this will help spur change. That field was built for 14-15 yr. old kids 40+ yrs. ago & is owned by Sweeny LL. It is not a hs field & never has been (dimensions). It hurts you in the long run too, & I know from experience.

They need more storage room, less people with keys, & a fresh start. Sweeny also needs $$ after all the Robinhood years, so it's a tough deal. But Sweeny had $$ for many years & the school board elected to keep renting Bennett-Outlar against the wishes of many, so this is where we stand. Something must be done to update the baseball & softball facilities.

(Lots of people work very hard up there just like my dad & others did, so this rant was in no way intended for them. They are doing the best they can with what they have. We simply need new facilities. Another bond issue maybe after the hs is renovated?)
