Keller ISD director of communications Jason Meyer said Fossil Ridge girls soccer coach Kenny Blevins has apologized to the Fort Worth ISD for an e-mail he sent prior his team's playoff game against Fort Worth Carter-Riverside.

The game was played March 23 at Carter-Riverside's campus. In his e-mail, Blevins warned parents about possible dangers, including gunfire and gang violence, if attending the game.

"It's very unfortunate this incident happened," Meyer said. "It in no way reflects the views of Keller ISD. If you were at the game, there was a lively atmosphere and there was good sportsmanship shown by both sides, considering."

Meyer could not say whether Blevins had or will be disciplined because it is a personnel issue.

Blevins apologized to Fort Worth ISD and the Carter-Riverside community for sending the e-mail. Meyer said Blevins was told there was a chance for danger on the Carter-Riverside campus based on information coaching colleagues had given him.

"He didn't check out the sources, and that's not acceptable by anyone in our school district," Meyer said.

Meyer hopes both school districts can build a strong relationship in the future. "One e-mail does not reflect the view of one school or the coach," he said.

Fort Worth ISD assistant athletic director Pam Lea, who supervises soccer for the district, said she was "disappointed" when she first learned that Blevins had sent the initial e-mail. "We've accepted their apology, and we're ready to move forward."

ok I see how it doesn't reflect the view of school but how does it not reflect the view of the coach he obviously had the view if he sent the e-mail in the first place

CR has always been a school that you hope is a home game and it's best to skip it if you play them on the road. I could name some more schools that are the same way. I'm not being racist, just realistic.
