Jasper defeated Bridge City tonight 3-2 in baseball while getting only two "hits" off Jeff Stringer. Both hits were bunts. That Jeff Stringer can pitch, but he had too many errors behind him. Jasper stole home on its first two runs, and scored on another bunt in the seventh inning to win the game. Those Dogs can run the bases! :) The first bunt "hit" did not figure in the scoring.

The BC Cards will be alright. There were just two very good teams on the field tonight and somebody had to lose.

Jasper put incredible pressure on BC with their base running speed. I think BC was obviously rushing some of their plays. When you have a coach like Jasper's who will have his guys running at any time on any play to any base, it takes a toll. He sent runners home on attempted steals four times, and Jasper scored on two of them.

The Cards hand hands like a bricklayer last night. Booted the ball 4 times. Jasper ran the Cards to death. The Jasper coach has big brass ones for sure. The Dawgs have speed to burn. Didn't see many big bats in the lineup but they played small ball very well.
