Crazy Math Trick

Here is a math trick so unbelievable that it will stump you.
Personally I would like to know who came up with this and why that person is not running the country. Grab a calculator. (you won't be able to do this one in your head)
1. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the Area code)
2. Multiply by 80
3. Add 1
4. Multiply by 250
5. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number
6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.
7. Subtract 250
8. Divide number by 2 Do you recognize the answer ??

Math counts is a competition in middle school where kids learn all sorts of shortcuts for doing math problems. Some of the shortcuts involve working problems backwards...which is likely how this little thing was created! ;)

I wasn't in it either...I did take part in the calculators competions though. It's easier to let the calc work the problem for me hehe! ;)

We didn't have math Counts - we had Girls Count!
