I just asked about the Dallas job, since the partners were out all last week. They both pretty much told me the same thing as last time....did they forget that they told me about the job, and asked if I wanted it?

The only thing I found out is that it starts in May...yeah...um....am I going? Cause if I am, my arse needs to start looking for a place to live!!!!!!

:helpme:

I don't know if I am going....or staying....or anything. This bites! Majorly. :(

they would understand. Ask them...tell them you need to start making living arrangements!

Sounds like maybe she has some undecided bosses.

Yeah, I know....I should.

The man....not so easy to talk to when he has been out of the office for a week. He pretty much just runs around, and anytime you try to talk to him he says he's busy. He always sounds rude even though he's probably not trying to.

Not saying that you should necessarily do this, but sometimes the best way to communicate with a boss (like the one you described) is to go through his/her assistant. Quite often, the assistant knows as much, if not more, regarding most issues and has his/her ear since they are typically the ones steering the ship.;)

what if you are the assistant?

Since registration is open, just tell your boss to sign up on the downlow because you need to ask him a question!

Didn't sound like the case, but if she is the assistant and can't get him to slow down and give an answer, that is even more cause for concern.;)

Bosses are funny creatures when it comes to transferring employees, especially ones they deem valuable. They can drag their feet, use avoidance tactics etc...just because they don't want to lose the employee or have to re-train someone. Then again, you can have a boss that regardless of what's best for him or his department, he will put the employee's wishes and well-being first.

Either way, sounds like timing is fairly critical.

Well I got a semi-answer.

It looks like I won't know if I got the job until the middle of April. Even though I was asked if I would be interested, the company that is asking for 2 people from my employers would prefer 5 years of experience.

I was told I am not out of the running, but if 2 come along with more experience then me, well then....you know the drill.

I am **** up a creek w/o a paddle!

Crappy news, but not completely hopeless.

Now I am just hoping no one else wants the job, beause there are a few catches that most landmen are not accustomed to.

Too bad I couldn't have hacked in and deleted the email before she sent it out to everyone. MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

 :hairpunk:

-------------------------------

We have been offered a project at an oil/gas company in Dallas, TX. The project requires 2 Landmen / Document Administrative Support Specialists to work through JPF and be based in-house at the oil/gas company in Dallas. The work day would be 8:00 to 5:00, Monday through Friday, and we have been told to expect the project to last about 2 years. It involves working in a cubicle, reading and interpreting leases, building a database program, and entering lease data into the program. The company prefers that the Landmen / Document Specialists have at least 5 years of experience. Day rate is expected to be $200 to $300 per day, depending upon experience, and there will be no expense reimbursement (mileage, housing, meals). The project is expected to begin around mid-May to early June.

If you would be interested in the position, or in hearing more about it, even if you have less than 5 years of experience, please e-mail me by April 16, 2007.
