1. '99 FSU (Peter Warrick was one of the most electric college players I've ever seen, their defense was one of the best on the list, their offensive backfield, led by senior citizen Chris Weinke, is IMO the second-best on the list, and they boasted the best offensive line of any of these teams)
2. '01 Miami (When you think of great college QB's, Ken Dorsey's name doesn't come up a lot, but he's one of the most underrated QB's of all time... His name belongs on the same lists as Vince Young, Matt Leinart, Danny Wuerffel, Pat Sullivan, etc... And the team was loaded, top to bottom, with athletes... Over half of their starters wound up in the NFL)
3. '05 Texas (Almost as talented as '01 Miami, led by one of the five or ten best college QB's of all time)
4a. '98 Tennessee (Nobody knew what to expect from Fulmer's group the year after Peyton graduated, but senior Tee Martin took the reigns on a team that returned a ton of talent and finally etched one of the all-time great coach's name on a championship trophy)
4b. '04 USC (Every bit as good as the '98 UT squad, I always thought the Trojans' '04 team was the best during their three-year run... The only team with a championship-caliber defense, led by quite possibly the best offensive backfield to ever step foot on the college gridiron and the best group of receivers on the list)
6. '06 Florida (An '02 OSU-caliber defense and an offense that, while inconsistent, could up points whenever they turned it on)
7. '00 OU (This was Josh Heupel's team... Nowhere near as talented as their '02-'03 squad, but they played together as well as just about anyone... The leadership on this team was second-to-non, coached by a guy who will go down as one of the all-time greats and is probably the best coach of this era, QB'd by one of the most poised QB's of the last 30 years, and led on defense by a LB and S who were two of the best defenders to ever come through Norman... and that's saying a lot)
8. '02 OSU (Beat a great Miami squad for the NC, but their lack of offense pushes them down a little lower than the rest... Still, they had a young stud at RB, great backups, and a great defense)
9. '03 LSU (Even though they beat a team who was, IMO, better than any of the teams on this list for the title, I just don't think they would've stacked up well against most of these teams)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
4c. '04 Auburn Tigers (Every bit as good as the Trojans that year, with a better O-Line and quite possibly the best defense on the list, definitely up there with the OSU and FSU D's... Two RB's that went in the top five of the NFL Draft and a QB who went later in round one, tons of senior leadership, and the best OL in college ball that year)

Well without doing the elongated version...

1. 2005 Texas (Come on they had Vince...That negates EVERYTHING ELSE!)

2. 2001 Miami

3. 1999 FSU

4. 2004 USC

5. 2003 LSU

6. 2000 OU

7. 2006 Florida

8. 1998 Tennessee

9. 2002 OSU (This team should NOT have won that title.)

Since Tulsa never played in a BCS game, you're probably right.

Texas No. 1. No one would have beat Texas or Vince Young. In fact none of those teams would have beat USC in 2005 except for Texas.

Vince Young is the greatest.
