It's really quiet here today and everyone seems to be okay. So who's being bad?

read the excerpts from FDR's secretary of state... Dec 6, 1941 - Soviet Army launches a major counter-offensive around Moscow.

Dec 7, 1941 - Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor; Hitler issues the Night and Fog decree.

Dec 8, 1941 - United States and Britain declare war on Japan.

Dec 11, 1941 - Germany declares war on the United States.

Dec 16, 1941 - Rommel begins a retreat to El Agheila in North Africa.

Dec 19, 1941 - Hitler takes complete command of the German Army.

small bit of history;)

from excerpts of Cordell Hull, henry wallace and Harry S truman...

oct. 1941- Roosevelt ordered the moving of the Lusitania...he also ordered to US vessels to fire on German U boats in hopes of retalliation to force the US into War

Aug, 1941- FDR entered into an illegal unconstitutional agreement with Churchill in hopes to get the US involved in WW II

Dec. 7th- FDR moves to ask Congress to declare war on Germany... then is reminded by Hull that Japan bombed Pearl Harbor

found in autobiographies, which would be a primary source...know what those are right?

see the agreement with Japan and Germany were set in motion way before...but...
I will take the word of people who were there... as opposed to someone's slant...

that was some great reading... having to read books of all the secretary of states and vice presidents in the 20th century... you ought to read "The Best and the Brightest" about JFK... that was great

and just to clarify...FDR didn't declare war on anybody...he asked the Congress to declare war on Japan on Dec 8th and Germany on Dec 11th. Japan passed the Senate with a vote of 82-0 and the House 388-1. Germany passed the Senate 88-0 and the House 393-0. Italy (also on Dec 11th) passed 90-0 in the Senate and 399-0 in the House.

I would like to know who was the one person that voted against declaring war on Japan. Maybe Nancy?

but addidas... what you are saying is correct and we all know that but by that same token you are saying that Bush did not declare war on Iraq...

Hull and Wallace talked to FDR before he approached Senate to get the right course of action...
