Candyland or Operation...:D

Probably Candyland because of the "neat" gameboard...Operation always kinda made me nervous.;)

Great thread coach...

And then there were these for boys or girls alike....trying to see who could come up with the best creations or who could actually duplicate one of the pictures.

Tag and Red Rover were both fun. So were BB gun wars, but that didn't happen until a little later.

It'd be great to see kids play those games again. I can't even get my younger bro and sis to get off the couch while they're watching Disney channel crap.

It was kind of a "reverse hide n seek" game that we called Smear the Queer. You had one kid hide and the rest went to look for him. When he was caught everyone got to dogpile him. If he made it to "base" without getting caught someone else had to be "it."

I know...the name's not too PC, but it was a lot of fun.

Kick the Can... get an empty can of coke and about 8 friends kicked it around to each other and try to not get hit.. the one to get hit by the can would get punched by all the others until he touched the stop sign..

yeahhh... im from the streets:nerd:

not to be impolite or anything but my fav game was allways

smear the queer - no pads no rules, and sometimes a ball was not needed

Outside games:
.
"Tackle" was always fun!:D I remember playing alot of that in Jr. High. Great times there. Wally T. was awesome then as fast as strong as he was at that age.
Tag was cool too.
We wrestled alot as kids.
Growing up close to "the creek", we also had many good times playing fort with lots of huge rocks thrown around.:)
.
.
Inside games:
.
Stratego, chess, D&D, Fortress America and Axis and Allies were favorites of mine.
.
.
.
.
Maybe the better question should be...
"Would you allow your son or daughter to play the games you enjoyed as a child?"

Oh yeah. I had a Benjamin air rifle that I'd bring, but I always went with my Red Ryder. You could reel off a lot more shots, but the person who got tagged by me never felt it much. The person who got tagged with the Benjamin, on the other hand, wore those scars for the rest of their lives. It just took forever to reload and shoot again.

I still have a few of those scars.

Jeff, we played Smear the Queer like Diocletian did. Someone would be waiting on the other side of the field, and we'd kick off to him and he'd have to try to get a touchdown.... past like 20 or 30 of us. When he got dogpiled, he'd toss the ball up in the air and whomever caught it would have to get a TD. And so on and so on.

Helluva game. I'd still play that one if I wasn't so old.

then we continued in highschool. with a double wall. :D
