Wylie is now 15-1-1. They beat Bwood last night to get their 15th win but had a tie against Bwood in the Sweetwater Wooden bat Tourney. They had some key contributors that were still in Basketball until a couple of weeks ago. They should roll through district once again.

I was hoping Snyder and Wylie would match up before district, but I guess its not going to happen. Lubbock Cooper might be another team out of Region I that's pretty salty this year.

the two coastal bend teams from south texas both have 4 losses but are ranked still:) Tradition and teams they played helped.

Man I thought Wharton would be in the top 10! They are a top 10 team IMO.

Too bad they didn't try to make up that early season game. :(

Wonder if Argyle is going to be last year's Breckenridge? 15-1 is an outstanding record but I was looking at their schedule and it sure has a lot of 2A teams. Wins over Little Elm (4A) and Dallas Skyline (5A) but I don't think either of those have too much of a baseball program. Win over #5 Brock (2A) but loss to 2A Pottsboro (unranked) who I don't know anything about.

If they win district over Sanger, Bowie, and Decatur then they will certainly be a proven top team.

Hopefully they'll get to face Bowie's stud pitcher as well. That will show provide a good measuring stick for Argyle. Anybody seen numbers on him for this season btw?

Cuero FTW!!! well the next 3 years (including this one) the Gobblers will be a great team with nexts years and the next years team being a big force. This years Soph. class has already went to nationals in Select ball. why not go to state in HS ball? lol

tied BWOOD??

dang IMO a top ten team in 3A should smash brownwood.
were yall probably still missing those key guys im guessing??
LH 3 hit them and won 8-1

and yeah who's warton played? cause LH handled them last year and supposably they lost their pitching and didnt seem like they had much comming up??

and can anyone tell me more about cuero, my uncle is the head coach and i havent been able to talk to him in about 3-4 weeks??

right now we are 12-3...our only losses are to Lake Charles Barbe(LA)...they won state last year for 5A...El Campo, and Jersey Village...if played the way we could of in those last 2 games we could be 14-1...but polls really arent much for us...we are rolling right now...3-0 in district...we'll make our way up...;)

The baseball poll is the most worthless of the high school polls.

Wharton has Ansley back this year, correct? He's the one player that really sticks out in my mind from the playoffs last year. Great outfielder. First baseman was a good hitter, too, if I recall. Is he back or did he graduate? If I remember correctly, Wharton had one pitcher that they relied on heavily last year. I think he pitched against us in both playoff games. I don't really recall the other pitchers they used, but I seem to remember one being a freshman or sophomore. Is Wharton still bunting quite a bit this year?

Liberty Hill is actually putting together a better season so far this year than last year. We're 13-3 and really starting to play some good baseball. We won the Brownwood Tourney the weekend before spring break beating Stephenville, Brownwood, Lampasas, and El Paso Americas. We open up district play Saturday at home against Hutto. Should be a good one. The district is pretty balanced. I like our chances at the district title, but as long as we make the playoffs, I'll be happy. With our pitching depth, I like our chances against anyone in a 3 game series.

i was the freshman pitcher last year but i was relied on more for hitting i was a huge part of the lineup but the grades got me so we lost my bat in the end of district and all the playoffs..

tigerpride_08
03-21-2007, 09:26 PM
yes...Ansley is having a pretty good season and the 1st Baseman Mathis is having a great year...already signed to play with Lamar and is showing why...we're coming together and have the Freshman Looper pitching well and i think he's already 6-0 with an ERA under 1...pitching could be the only problem we're solving that...i'm looking forward for finishing out district and seeing what we can do in the playoffs...but one game at a time..;)

True that polls dont mean squat, but overall record does. I am pretty sure it is still used to seed in the state tourney.

Coming from you...that wouldn't get a response from me. I prefer to save those mind numbing conversations for the donks that find the computer at school with the dial-up internet and try to impart their wisdom on us all. Those are the fun ones :)
