A newborn baby kidnapped from a hospital by a suspect posing as a medical worker has been found safe in Clovis, N.M., authorities said Sunday.
Just before midnight on Saturday, Lubbock investigators received a call from a person who reported that a woman matching the description of the person who had abducted 3-day-old Mychael Darthard-Dawodu, Lubbock police said in a statement.
The Clovis police department was contacted and during their investigation they located the baby girl Mychael in a Clovis, New Mexico hospital and also located a suspect at another location.
The suspect is being questioned by authorities in Clovis. F.B.I. agents from the Lubbock, Texas office are in Clovis to assist with the investigation.
Mychael is in good condition and arrangements are being made for her return to Lubbock.
Lubbock police will hold a news conference at 12 noon.
