I couldn't view it with Mozilla. I went to msn and I was able to view it with no problems. It was a good game. Hawks just ran with it in the 4th. Congratulations to the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks!

The 4A final comes on at 3:30. South Oak Cliff vs. Beaumont Ozone. They are expecting a big crowd.

Speaking of crowds, I can't believe all the people that got up and left in the last few minutes. If I was ever able to cheer my team in a state basketball championship, I think I would be one of the last to leave the place!!

I would imagine that most of the people that left were fans of the prior teams that played, since the 1A game was just before the 3A game.

Perhaps your right, but even during the presentation the crowd was nothing. I would think HJ would at least have a couple of hundred people fill the place, but it was empty when the HJ players and cheerleaders started chanting state champs, state champs.:(

Great game. HJ really showed how good they were coming back from a big deficit and stepping up their pressure defense. Wylie had no answer for the big kids rebounding.

Hold your head high Bulldogs. You had a spectacular season and we are all proud of you, your coaches, and your accomplishments.

Congrats HJ!!! Way to bring that title to 21-3A.

IMO, this should make my Silsbee Tigers state runners-up, but I know that they are officially not. The Tigers beat HJ by 19 in district and let the regional final game get away from them after leading the entire game till 1 minute left. Game went to OT, lost by 5. The better team won.

Wylie shot well early and had a 26-13 lead, but eventually that press wore them out. Over the next 18 minutes of game time, HJ outscored them 36-9. You just can't simulate the kind of pressure that HJ plays with. Those guys press on MISSES.

I think the most tell-tale sign that Wylie wasn't all that prepared for a pressing team was seeing Wylie's guards continually trying to dribble through the press. Doing that was pretty much a deathblow to any shot they had to win because that's exactly what HJ wanted to see happen. Didn't hurt either that Wylie's coach let the lead get to 12 before he called a timeout. It was over at that point.
