Who got within 200 yards of him? What are the stats? That is pretty phenomenal in this time period. Ken Hall was playing for a Class B team that only played to regional during that time. A true man among boys. My father spoke very highly of him. I met him at his BBQ joint in Fredericksburg one time and he was very cordial.

My mother went to school with Ken and 2 of my uncles were on the football team. I have read the school yearbooks many times. One story that I heard, Ken did not originally go out for football. The coach was short on boys and starting asking everybody to come out and play. Didn't take long for them to see his talent. He was also very fast and excelled in track.

Wonder how good this guy could have been. Bulls-eye: didn't he go to A&M and quit because they wanted him to play FB? Or am I thinking of someone else?

That's him, in the older days, players played both ways without leaving the field. A fullback played linebacker and a tailback played safety. Coach Bear Bryant put Ken at FB/LB and later amitted he had made a mistake. Ken did play pro ball in Canada and also with the Houston Oilers. He still holds their kick-off returned for a TD record. A back injury did slow him down and he finally gave up football.

Hart, who is headed to Michigan, set national records for career TDs (204), points (1,246) and 100-yard games (47).

WOW! That's all I can say. There aren't enough superlatives. We think Jordan Shipley is the stud of studs because he had 100 touchdowns. This guy has over 200. Really WOW!!

The player was Mike Hart,of a New York high school. His school has an enrollment of 339 students and is in the lowest classification in N.Y. football. He is 5ft-9 and weighs 185 lbs. He runs the 40 in 4.5 secs.

wow...I'd expect him to be faster or bigger or something to get that close to the record..not that 4.5 is a slow time at all...but lots of teams have RBs quicker than that.
