Who will have the best chance of beating the Mavericks in the NBA playoffs---Phoenix or San Antonio?

Some of the so-called "experts" say that Phoenix's style of play won't win an NBA championship.

You never know in the NBA anymore. I think the East is so weak that whoever gets to the Finals from the West will win it!

So true---but San Antonio always seems to get it together and play tough during the playoffs. I agrre about the title team coming from the West.

in a 7 game series, alot can happen... the Spurs could because Popovich can coach and the Spurs are playing better...
that may be it...
Detroit and Miami are distinct possibilities but I would not be firm

anyone with a dominant big man usually gives the Mavs trouble. I think Pheonix will give them fits. What answer do the MAvs have for Stoudemire?

The so called "experts" who still say Phoenix can't win with their style are ignoring the fact that they actually play pretty efficient defense now. They give up some points because of their up and down game, but their defensive effieciency ratings have been really highly ranked all year. That being said, I think I'd have to say San Antonio because they've got the ability to slow it down and play more effectively in that type of game, plus, Pop has been saving his vets for the playoffs. I saw a graphic on NBA Fastbreak or whatever its called on ESPN about how many minutes the big players for Dallas and the Suns have been playing. It won't necessarily matter, but it could certainly be a factor.
