At the Liberty Track Meet: #1 Bridge City 171.5; #2 Barbers Hill 123; #3 Anahuac 108.5; #4 Dayton(4A) 66.5; #5 Liberty 58; #6 Tarkington 45.5; #7 Splendora 24; #8 Hamshire-Fannett 12; #9 Cleveland 7; #10 Huffman-Hargrave 2
Bridge City is not so dominate in Track as they are in CrossCountry. Nevertheless, Michael Gauthier turned an early 10.68 in the 100m. Given a halfway decent start and he will win the 100M at State this year.

Would you please post meet results from around the State?

OC, I saw that about Gauthier running 10.68 in the 100 meters. That's one of the fastest, if not the fastest time in the state so far this season. He looks primed to go to state again this year.

Orangefield Bobcat Relays: Bridge City boys won with 110 points, followed by East Chambers 80 points and third went to Hardin-Jefferson 67 points. Bigger schools-- Nederland, PN-G and Beaumont Central were also strong in field events. Anahuac, LC-M and Vidor had a few impressive individual events.

There seems to be some discrepency on some of the actual times run. For legitimate results, go to:

Texas Track Results Page (http://www.texastrack.com/2004%20Track/04_high_school_t&f_results.htm)

It will give you all the results you want.

From the results listed, Gauthier from Bridge City ran a 10.90, not a 10.68. Weils from Snyder ran an 11.04, not a 10.7.

Just trying to get some facts straight.

At the Fredericksburg Relays, Burnet won the 4x100 and 4x200m relays, running 43.2 and 1:31.0.

To Cat 22: A 10.90 is nearly .30 less than what you would expect from Michael Gauthier; was it the hand-timing or did he just get a bad start?..That Sophomore Aaron Brannen(BC) set some new personal best on the 1,600 and 3200. He looks scholarship bound. We have a CrossCounty team that came in 2nd in state last year. I understand Elgin graduated all but one distant star; Brennen and his Sophomore friends just might win the thing this year!

There was a strong head wind, so that may have affected his time.

yeah it was hand timed plus it was cold and a bit windy so these could be some factors as well
