I have family in Sweetwater! It is so pretty out that way, but unfortunately I haven't been in a long time.

One thing I always remember about Sweetwater is that everyone lives in brickhouse with the windows glued shut because of the tornados.

I hope one of these Terry and I make the trek out to El Paso and maybe sneak in a trip to Sweetwater.

Oh and by the way....the water there is so nasty (to us non-Sweetwater folks) that for every visit we would bring our own tea from home. ;)

Yeah I am yet to see any of the older houses that have windows that are NOT glued shut!

And I don't prefer the water here.. we use a brita filter in town at my moms and we get water from another place out at my dads. I won't really drink faucet water here unless I HAVE to.

Well prob not to people that live there, but its amazing how the colors of dirt change across Texas. That is what I love so much about Texas.

I always remember when we were starting to cross Dallas how the dirt changed to black, and then we would make it into West Texas and it was red. And of course here its brown.

But the cliffs of red clay are beautiful, to me of course. I just love all of Texas. ;)

I'm not getting to hunt this year but I always have gotten to. I wish I could but I will be down there on Saturday to partake in some beer drinking and rattlesnake eating.

Negative. I was watching the History channel the other night, and before the last climatic shift, which was around the time the Vikings were living on Iceland, it was quite green and full of good hunting, fishing, and cropland.

Yeah. Good info RMAC, Sweetwater is actually named after a natural spring feed creek that was in the middle of town where there was a bathhouse and the water was alot cleaner than most creeks in the area.

Probably. The water there is gross. I guess it is from all the chemicals they put in it. The water here isn't that great either... oh well.

WHat are the odds that the day after I mention how much I love it out there that I over hear my bosses saying they are going out to Sweetwater next week for a possible prospect.

Oh dear god I pray it happens. I am tired of this desk job! :hairpunk:

I would love to go out there myself. My home is just 40 miles south of Sweetwater and my great grandmother lived in Roscoe.
I love that part of texas and the red cliffs. On a clear day you can see forever and on a clear disk you can seek forever.
