We got 3 last weekend from 280-320, all in the same spot shooting under the full moon. Pictures are still in the camera.

yah, we trapped a 350+ one night, there were three of us as well... we saw it and I immediately went back to the barn and grabbed the tractor... it was about 31 degrees that night, so we hooked him up to the bucket, raised the bucket and left him there so we could go back to the house and eat some pizza before the dirty work began... got back and the hog had brought the bucket back down to the ground...

Yeah, but if you didn't leave the tractor running, the hydraulics on it are naturally going to release over time and the bucket would fall back down slowly due to it's own weight.

I had many more pictures of the 300+ hogs we've removed from ours and the surrounding ranches in the past two years, but the trusty Kodak easyshare took a dump as well as the computer they where stored on. Have to start from scratch now.

I love to go hog hunting. Anytime you come hunting in the Centex area let me know.

Many new tractors have a safety feature that does not allow them to release when the tractor is off.

They started it in the 80's, but it is only on the 3 point not the front.

This common sight in our area has claimed more hogs than you could shake a stick at. I got 87 in Jan of 06 with one as my personal record. Dad is doing it now while I'm away and he had 53 in three weeks last month.

there's a little set-up like that out at the place I'm talkin' about cept it's a little more wooded... it wasn't being used to trap for a while, he actually kept and fed some wild ones in there and then ended up sellin' 'em...

he poors old transmission fluid on trees around the traps etc... says hogs like rubbing on it...

my guess is that little opening (or what looks like an opening) to the left of the picture... they can squeeze in but not out?

Just an overlapping panel. Trap wise hogs learn to tear them up especially the big ones. I had a system where I checked the traps in the morning and evening, then pulled my pickup beside the door as an obstruction, climbed into the bed with the .22 and started blasting.

we had some 90 pounders in a little 8x4 trap once... we just took a .22 and went up to the trap and blasted... my job was to shoot the last one... the others went down fine... mine did not, I hit him where I wanted, he just snorted and look at me... had to shoot him four times AND he was still kickin' draggin' him out... we just cut the poor dude and let him go that way...

Sorry guys I am somewhat blind, I did not look that close at the picture. I have two traps like this and caught around 20 little pigs, before I caught some that just hit the flap and pushed it out. After this I have had great luck with a door and spring type door.

that's like the one at the place I'm talking about... we throw the bait to the right of the door, it's set up so there's enough time for a lot of 'em to get in there before the trip the wire and the pen released slamming the door behind 'em...

I like the tightwad design, wanted 'em to do it with the one I'm talkin' about, but they had a door on it already so what the hell...

it's not hunting... and it's not humane, but it sure does keep the land-owners and neighboring landowners happy when their land isn't all rooted up...

Hey, you have your hay fields rooted to hell, lose milo and corn fields, have brand new fence tore up and horses spooked and get bucked off and then you can speak of being humane to feral hogs !

I use a grenade, sometimes a lightning bolt... it's more humane that way...

before we ever shot ours we had their futures planned out for 'em... if we weren't eaten 'em, and we had enough for sausage already in store, someone else was gettin' 'em...

I dunno about where you're from, but around here we have people that purchase trapped hogs live as a business/side-business...

There was a guy in Gatesville that bought em' but as soon as I started trapping he was in a motorcycle accident and was laid up and never got back to buying em.
