Ok folks here's your chance to climb out on a limb with me. SintonFan has GP by one, and I have Sinton by eight. Anybody else?

GP looks like they are going to have a good team this year. However,if the Sinton team has as much enthusiasm as Sinton fans, Then I am going with Sinton. Go get em Pirates.

Old Green

Pirates by 6. Sinton's speed will be too much for the Wildkitties.

Second week of the season, the jitters are gone, I look for the Pirates to be firing on all cylinders in this one.I'm going to say Sinton by 10 or more.

GP by a TD.

sinfan75

Before the season started i had Sinton by three.I think I'll stay with that.Sintons passin game should be much better this week.

SintonFan

Ok, I just got back from Rockport. Here's My take... if Sinton plays anywhere near the way they did against Raymondville, they are gonna get beat handily by GP! They looked out of sink in most phases of the game with the exception of the kicking game. GP has alot of pride on the line and hopefully Sinton was looking toward their game with them. Unfortunately, my ranking system (although probably not very accurate) says GP by one and I'm gonna stay with it. Sinton needs alot of improvement in one week. I hate to play devil's advocate, but that's way I see it.

sinton66
09-01-2002, 06:16 PM
I'm counting on the fact they have the first game behind them already. They alternated last year somewhat, and seemed to play much better against good competition in even numbered games. Go figure. I'm hoping they'll get fired up for this one. SintonFan and 75, I'll pm ya!

sinfan75
09-01-2002, 06:24 PM
One other thing is Sinton has never beaten G-P in varsity so I'm hopin they get a little motivated.Sinton did tend to play to their competition last year and it'll probably be the same way this year. But they do have a lot of work to do offensively.

SintonFan
09-01-2002, 07:47 PM
Check my take on the last game, folks.

Also, good game on espn right now.
Sorry, espn2.

The more I look at this game, the more I think it's gonna be one of the better ones in the Region. GP scrimmaged Aransas Pass two weekends ago and struggled against them. That however is not too surprizing for the first scrimmage. I haven't been able to get any info on their scrimmage with Galveston Ball last weekend. Sinton should be able to get fired for this one.

SintonFan_inAustin
09-02-2002, 10:27 PM
the pirates will show in this game they are definite contenders after this game if they can play 4 quarters like last year and not 4 min. like they showed against raymondville. sinton by 28 or more

sinton66
09-02-2002, 11:18 PM
You didn't even WINK when you said that. GP's gonna be tougher than you think. They return 7&7. Graduated their 1000yd rusher from last year, but I'm sure they've found a replacement by now. Going down for the game?

TarponFanInNorthTexas

I'll take Gregory Portland by 3.

31-28

Read on the caller forums G-P had a 3-2 edge in tds. over Galveston Ball.

Both defenses look ready, I think this will be a low scoring affair. Both have offensive "kinks" to work out. I could be wrong though.

Actually, I haven't had one yet either. They probably don't have them at the concession stands, most likely out at one of the BBQ pits. SinFan75 should be able to tell you exactly where they are. For all I know he may be stopping by Tasty Taco on the way to the game. However he probably won't be back on here until 9 or 10 tonight. They usually do Fajitas and sausage wraps and stuff like that for the various organizations. I'd bet it was at one of those.

I think it will be a close game...I'm saying whoever's special teams play the best will win (Sinton's special teams scored 14 points for them last week)

Hey guys, 75 never said he got them at the game. He's said several times 'Tasty Taco'. The fajita taco was really good at the game. What I liked alot was the dollar-fifty smoked turkey legs when the game was over. One of the guys that was barbecueing was screaming "dollar-fifty turkey legs!" I made a comment that he should have been in the stands during the game. Anyway poor 75 gets more words put in his mouth than a two-year-old eats bugs. LOL...
jus havin some fun here...

If it's 'leads' in electronics, yeah we got the transmitter working but are having some work to be done in the demux on the receiver.

Of course the only leads RIGHT NOW is that I'm getting hungry with all the food talk.

Sinton must come out looking better than they did last friday night. GP does have some big kids on the team but will not have the speed that Sinton will produce. Watch for BIG A to keep the ball, oh did i mention throw the ball. Good luck GP.....

Hopefully the rain will hold off until after the game. Should be a great one. I think Sinton will be up for the challenge. They are very capable of stepping it up a knotch or two when they need to. I agree, A could really hurt them in the air (Brandon, Jurach) and on the ground. Then watch out for Jules and Bubba to chime in. Defense will continue to improve every week and I know Chance is itching to light someone up. Fieldgoal could be huge in this game. Advantage Sinton with Jurach's leg. Sinton was not pumped up for Raymondville. They will be for GP. Look for Sinton to open up the offense a little. Sinton 31 GP 14.

Agree, rain could play a factor, but to who's advantage? I think the first quarter will tell a lot. If Sinton is pumped up like last year's Mathis game.........then look out. GP could be in for a long night. If not then it will go down to the last quarter.
Good luck Pirates! Past history means nothing in this game. This is 2002 not the 70's.
