Top Games of 2006 Countdown..

This is my fourth straight year doing this particular list and its loads of fun to reflect and debate on the past season, so I would like to open up the list and observations to this board as well. Games from 5A to 1A are selected in this list and I will be unveiling several games a day through March 10.

Included in 40-37, a battle between two offensive superstars in the Rio Grande Valley to decide the 32-5A crown, a first round playoff game between Westlake and Churchill, a triple overtime thriller in 15-4A action, plus a remarkable comeback victory in the Little SWC between Abilene and Odessa Permian.

With 36, 35, 34 and 33. Included are two overtime games, two playoff games, and two district games. One of them is a rivalry, another is a playoff rematch from the previous season.

I wonder how high the Celina/LH and Wylie/Decatur games will finish. You would think that both would be top 10 games...but you have to think that SLC/Trinity will be #1 because of the sheer magnitude.

With 17 left to be revealed, there are two 3A games in the list with the Giddings-WOS game coming in at #21

There are more than four 3A games still yet to be revealed.. there are two 3A games on the list through #18.

How can the Wylie/Decatur game not make the list somewhere? Wylie scores a TD, misses a 2 pt conversion, recovers an onside kick, and makes a 40+ yd FG in the final seconds. They scored 9 points in about 30 seconds to win that game. Both QB's had over 300 all-purpose yards. I'm not playing homer here...that game just got screwed in the rankings. :(

I wonder if Fitzhenry had something to do with this!!! :mad: ;)

i totally forgot about the Southlake Caroll vs. Euless Trinity game...the way my coach described it maybe that should have been #1...
