Tom Bean names Sanders
Tal Sanders was approved Monday night at Tom Bean to replace Brent Graham, who left to join his uncle Todd Graham's Tulsa staff. Sanders, a former North Texas football player, was 38-53 in nine years as head coach at Ferris. In 2000, Ferris went 9-4 with a trip to the third round of the 3A Region II playoffs. Prior to coaching at Ferris, he coached at his alma mater, Haltom High School, from 1990-98, where was OC his last three seasons and spent five years as soccer coach.Canton offensive coordinator Aaron Slider, and Grapeland athletic director Chris Iske were the other finalists.
