I was at the FW O.D. Wyatt meet on Saturday and the wind was downright brutal! In fact, the meet was called before the finals started because of two injuries.
During the last lap of the girls 1600m run, the wind picked up a table from the infield and blew it onto the track, hitting a girl and knocking her flat! She was not moving at all, and was removed via ambulance. My daughter came home today saying her coach told them the girl's jaw was broken. Evidently, there was also a chair blown into a boy on the infield resulting in a broken arm.
Add that to the sand-blasting everyone received and it adds up to a very sad and strange day.
