ACCOLADES FOR AVERY:
Head Coach Avery Johnson earned his 100th career coaching victory on 12/31 at Denver, becoming the fastest coach in league history to reach the century mark (131 games). The late Red Auerbach was the previous fastest to do so (135 games coached).

On that note............. A few weeks ago ESPN (in all of their Dungy/Lovie Black coach hype) did a story on the 1975 NBA Finals, which featured Al Attles' Golden State Warriors and K.C. Jones' Washington Bullets. Both coaches said in an interview that the fact that both head coaches were black was not a huge storyline at all. Nowdays, with Political Correctness run amok, that would be the only story.

BTW........BIG congrats to Avery. He may not be with the Spurs anymore, but he'll always be part of the Spurs family:clap:
