ROSEBUD MAN SHOT AND ARRESTED
(CAMERON) A 28 year old Rosebud Lott man is in the Milam County Jail today after a botched burglary
overnight here in Cameron ISD coach’s residence. Shortly before 3 a.m. the homeowner at 605 East
13th was awakened by someone attempted to break in the front door. After warning the person to go
away investigating Officer Patrick Guffy said the homeowner opened the front door and saw the man
sitting in the passenger side of his pickup. The homeowner gave the man a verbal warning, but the
suspect got out of the passenger side, stared at the homeowner, and then walked around the pickup
and got into the driver’s side. Guffy said that’s when the homeowner retrieved a 12 gauge shotgun,
and as the suspect attempted to start the pickup, the homeowner fired thru the windshield. The
suspect fled on foot east on 13th Street.
The subject was located a short time later after someone reported to police that they saw a man
crossing East 12th Street. In searching the area, Officers Guffy and Kris Stringer located the man
hiding under brush and leaves behind the residences of 404 and 406 East 12th. He was taken to
Central Texas Hospital where he was treated for numerous shotgun pellet wounds, and then booked into
the Milam County Jail.
