Why Was This game Not "Called"? (Girl's HS Soccer)

Don't know much about soccer, but I wonder why the following contest was not "called" because of these circumstances. Teaching kids not to quit is admirable, but I don't think anything was gained by allowing this game to continue. Am I wrong?

Indeed. I think there should be a mercy rule in place for all sports, but FOOTBALL. :D

I would sure like to know if this guy took his best palyers off the field and the subs were rackign up goals also or if he played it like a normal game. Or lady whichever is coaching.

Running up the score on a team is one thing, but running it up(and I'm not saying that happened on purpose) when the other team is 2 players short, is another.

however, in their defense if they had their subs ( i know no details on the game so they may not have had) in and they were scoring wether 2 players down or not what do u do? tell ur kids to kick the ball to ur end and leave it?

I agree. The officials should "call" the game under these circumstances.

right because the coaches cant really just tell there players to set down and quit i mean you cant blame them for the score you know unless their subs wernt in then its a diff story

I really don't want to sit at a ball game and watch a team bat around 2-3 times. *yawn* That's really the only sport that I watch that has the 10 run rule after 5 innings. Hell, in softball if you have a 15 run lead after 3 innings....that's the ball game. :clap:

If I was the coach on the winning side I would have pulled 2 kids off the field to even it up after I got a 4 or 5 goal lead. 21 - 0 is rediculous even if your subs are on the field. Denison isn't even very good, 3-9 record. Coach should be reprimanded for running up the score.

Don't punish the coach for being successful! We can't all win! If we did, that would be Communism! Capitalism must be protected at all costs, even on our soccer fields! :mad:

I said after a 4 or 5 goal lead. I also never said the coach couldn't reinsert the players if that lead shrinks.
