Teacher Accused Of Having Inappropriate Relationship With A Student


An East Texas teacher is arrested, accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student. 34 year old Bryan Basse is a Rusk High School Social Studies teacher. He's taught at the school since 2000. Rusk ISD superintendent says they received a tip about the alleged relationship and began an internal investigation, then turned it over to the police.

"Parents send us there most precious commodity which is their children. It's our responsibility to protect them and see they are safe when they come to school. When anyone has information of any acts like this or inappropriate relationships like this we want them to come forward and let the adults know so we can act on it," says Dr. James Largent, Superintendent, Rusk ISD.

Dr. Largent says Basse resigned on Wednesday. Now, the school district will file papers with the TEA, who could revoke Basse's teaching certificate. Rusk police have turned the case over to the Cherokee County District Attorney.

no joke - few summers ago, we were staying at Anna Maria Island in Florida - really nice place with superior food everywhere.. We are driving up and down the coast line, checking out places to eat and Johnny got ALL EXCITED - a freaking TACO HELL.......... OMG - give me a break,,, I'll eat a 7-11 hotdog before going to Taco Hell :rolleyes:
