Police arrest student accused of disrupting class 1:31 PM CST

01:38 PM CST on Thursday, February 22, 2007
From Staff Reports

A Grapevine High School student has been arrested on accusations he created a disruption in class and spit in the principal’s face.

Grapevine police said the 15-year-old student was arrested about 9:40 a.m. Wednesday.

The incident started when he yelled and cursed in class and went into the hallway. While in the hall, he tried to break down a classroom door and yank the fire alarm off the wall, Grapevine police Sgt. Bob Murphy said.

A school official let the student into an empty classroom, where he grabbed a pair of scissors and used them to carve on a desk, Sgt. Murphy said. A school resource officer arrived to escort the teen to the principal’s office.

At the office, the teen became angry and made threats to injure and kill people at the school. The student struggled as two officers tried to arrest him, and later spit in the principal’s face, Sgt. Murphy said.

The student was taken to the police department and then the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center. He faced charges of resisting arrest, assault by contact and disruption of class, a Class C misdemeanor, Sgt. Murphy said.

The student did not appear to have any medical issues. “He was just out of control,” Sgt. Murphy said.

Robin McClure, a spokeswoman for the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District, said she was not aware of the incident and that the district did not comment on student discipline matters.

Both Ms. McClure and Sgt. Murphy said this type of arrest was rare.

Detain him for ten days. Stick his butt on probation. Put him in alternate education. Or expell as long as they can. PUNK.

First lets find out what is going on in his life...That's not normal behavior, sounds like something just not right in him/his life...

Not a good day in Grapevine. I read a FW Star-Telegram report about a Grapevine baseball player who is in intensive care at Parkland after being struck in the head by a line drive during warmups for a game tonight.
