I would LOVE to know what is going on behind the scenes that is keeping Lovie Smith from getting a new contract from the Bears. It was reported today or yesterday that they will NOT reach an aggreement and he will be a free agent after next season!

ESPN.com reports Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith's agent expects the coach to return for the 2007 season without a new contract. Smith's agent, Frank Bauer, told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that talks between the two sides were at a "stalemate." Bauer said, "We're not close, we're not encouraged and based on where talks have gone recently, Lovie will be a free agent after next season."

Sounds like the Bears are "pulling a Grossman" on this one

They are traditionally pretty stingy when it comes to paying coaches. This isn't anything new really... :(

money is more important than winning
the bears lost rivera
grossman is not the answer
lovie is getting no love from the bears

the bears will go away to the abyss of the bucs-ravens-raiders ect

one hit wonders

again its all about money
they know they cant win with grossman
and cant draft a qb
and there is no one out there that can win it who they can get

bears are dead

its all about money

ask the rooney's

lol
