Wow! Does Dallas have a defensive coordinator yet?

I've heard that the Chargers are bringing in Ted Catrell to interview for the DC position. Even funnier...they brought in Mike Zimmer to interview for it. Kinda strange since he didn't take too well to the 3-4 in Dallas! ;)

not yet...they have 3 openings:

OC (probably going to Garrett)
DC (rumor is secondary coach Todd Bowles)
Special Teams

It's not "official." He still doesn't have a job title. The Cows brought in Wisconsin OC Paul Chryst to interview last week also.

Jason Garrett was hired as qbs coach, then to be considered for the OC job. Of course he was "considered" for the HC job by Jones too. Welcome to Jerry's world of goofy hiring before the HC was even named (now Wade Phillips of course).

another thought...I wonder if Lovie would want to bring in Mike Singletary (a favorite son of Chicago) to be the DC??

just like when a coach that you expect to be fired instead resigns...it's just a more PC way of firing him! ;)

Unemployment line shocker: Bears to let Rivera go

Yeah... thats what the link says on ESPN...
as petty as this is, you are still wrong about it... letting someone go is firing them... take it or leave it.

It's the same thing in the fox sports article that I read. It says "they decided to pursue a long-term solution" and promoting LB coach Bob Babich (who has interviewed for coordinator jobs the past few years) is something Lovie wanted to do so as to keep Babich around as long as possible and maintain stability for the team.

It's not a firing of Rivera in the normal sense because he is leaving on good terms...however when a team decides to "go in another direction" then it's like being fired because you are no longer wanted by the team.
