Forney fell big time

Gilmer Buckeye

I'll have to see what happens between Daingerfield and Chapel Hill before I conclude their move up to No. 4 is warranted. I'm inclined to think it probably is, though. Their offense is already exhibiting playoff form.

Gilmer survived a real scare against Jefferson. I'm a Buckeye through and through, no doubt, but until we can kick extra points (missing more than half of them so far  ), No. 2 is too high for us. No other poll even ranks us.

I have communicated via email with one of the Collier-Sharp pollsters. C-S apparently decided during the summer that Gilmer was the 3A version of last year's Texarkana team.

No.

Decatur is overated, has a padded schedule and was a flash in the pan last year. I learned that from J2K.

I am wondering why Everman is not rated #1. They just destroyed the Burnet team in the finals, and if not for a late interception in the end zone the score would have been as lopsided as the game statistics. Everman will have many of their players back, have an excellent program and a huge school enrollmemt, a great coaching staff and in my mind the defending champs are # 1 until beaten. Its not that I dont like Burnet, I go to most of their games, but after what I saw last year Burnet should have to beat Everman or Everman lose a game to be rated above them. What do yuo think?

What do yuo think?Again, I agree and disagree. Everman does deserve at least a top 5 spot, which Collier Sharp didn't give them. Burnet seems to be better in my opinion, even considering last year. I guess the best way to put it as to why I have them at #2 is, it's a new year. But, I'd be willing to say both of them are tied for #1. Just my take.

Everman at #7? Forney out of the top 20? This is an amusing little poll. Everman should be rated at least #3. Forney will have to put up some good numbers against Mabank and Commerce to get back some respect.
