This was on a Wednesday like yesterday but Al Capone and his organized crime along with others had operated in secret. But on this day it was exposed. He had an enemy in crime named Bugs Moran. Moran was to pick up his car at a garage and Capone's men dressed as policemen were to do a fake raid in the morning and kill Moran and his men. Some of Moran's men were there but Bugs stopped at a cafe for coffee and was late which saved his life. The so called raid started and innocent workers along with the gangsters there were lined up and shot down. Moran was not one of them and afterward he and Capone claimed no involvement but the public didn't buy it.

This outraged the public so much that the FBI and local police were pressured to act. What made them more mad was the fact that innocent people were killed which included an honest mechanic trying to make a living for himself and his wife and seven children.

This brought publicity about organized crima and with public pressure and the involvement of the FBI the fight against organized crime began.

I started to watch this on the History Channel last night, but fell asleep. Thanks for the recap!

Also be sure to watch the movie The St. Valentine's Day Massacre with Jason Robards when it is on tv. It is fairly accurate.
