talk about timing..

dallas hires phillips and a couple of days later Schottenheimer gets fired by San Diego. Schottenheimer is one of the winningest active coaches in professional football.

I figured they would've kept him after they saw Tony Dungy finally win a Super Bowl.

I wonder if they will get Norv, Ron, or Mike?

Marty has a one year contract for 4 Million in place so Dallas would have to give up picks for him and pay a ton..So I dont think he would have to Dallas

Marty SUCKS! period. He had the best team in the NFL this year and lost his first playoff game. He takes great talent and waste it. He chokes and will never get a super bowl. I applaud San Diego for firing him. I would like to see Bill Parcells give San Diego a shot. It would be an easy super bowl for him

Plus, he goes brain dead in the clutch quite a bit. See: SD vs. New England last month.

Maybe he will come to Sinton. :)

I don't think Marty made any major decisions that cost them the game against the Pats...

Challenging an obviously correct call and losing a valuable timeout late in a close game? Sounds like panic to me.

i dont know what play you are talking about that he challenged but its easy for us to say it was abvious by watching TV. His assistants upstairs are the ones that watch replays and tell them to challenge it. Im not sure if they even have access to the replays.

Exactly...the coach relies on those in the booth in determining whether or not to challenge a play.

Whomever the fault lies with, it was an unwinnable challenge, and they sorely needed that timeout later on.:nerd:
