Last round of interviews will be this week. In fact, one was tonight. The committe will make a suggestion to the school board next week at their regular meeting. Hope to have someone on campus the first week of March.

Do you have any idea who it is narrowed down to?

Is there an assistant from Mesquite with the last name Overstreet still in the running?

I think Swarm could probably get ahold of the list they have right now or at least get a few of the names they have in mind at the moment. If they don't say anything in the next couple of days I'm going to call down there and see if I can find out who a few of the finalists are. I hope one of their finalists is a former Badger. :) I think the world in Gatesville's neck of the woods would be officially turned upside down if someone from Lampus*** became their next head coach. He'd be a great fit though in my opinion.

The Gatesville community has no idea who is in the running. The committe is not releasing any names at this time. The local newspaper reported over 200 apps. were submitted, but they are not requesting the school give them the names of those that have been interviewed nor those who are being considered.

Heck if Brice Cherry is still at the Waco paper he needs to put in a call and find out who the finalists are. Then again if he did that he might get barred from the press box. I can guarantee you that no media member in that area wants to have to miss out on the BBQ(I believe it's called Hill Country BBQ now) , Pizza, homemade cookies, cakes and donuts they serve up there before the game! I know Swarm knows what I'm talking about on that one. :)

$55k ain't much to pull in somebody. They need to up that ante a little.

I've got a pretty good idea who it is going to come down to. If they REALLY wanted one of the guys who applied who was going to want more than 55k a year they would've paid it. They AREN'T looking for a cheap way out on this hire. Their pick could be a bit surprising to folks who don't know their thought process on this hiring, but it's going to be a good one. I also like what it is they're looking for before they choose their new head coach.
