I didn't know how the UT softball team would do this year without CAT but so far they are doing well at the beginning of the season. They have started off this weekend and are 4 - 0 (if they hold on to beat Long Beach State) at the Kajikawa Classics at Tempe, AZ. They have faced tough competition so far.
They started out beating No. 3 ranked UCLA and their ace pitcher 1 - 0. Then they beat Cal-State Northridge 5 to 3.
Then they played No. 8 Stanford and won 7 to 6.
These games were against good California teams who are always good.
They were ahead of Long Beach State 7 to 3 with one inning to go so if they hold on they will be 4 - 0 for the year.

I know that the main thing is to beat those teams in the playoffs after the season but still if these ladies play like they are playing they should do well indeed and have a good season. It seems everyone so far is stepping up at the right time and performing extra well now that CAT is gone which is going to be what it will take to do well.

Below is UT Shortstop Desiree Williams.

Good starts Lady Horns! Keep doing well!

The game with Long Beach State is over. UT scored 3 more runs in the 7th inning and then held them off in the last half of the 7th inning to win 10 - 3.
