both lines....

We are in the same division as the colts... draft a good defense to try and beat peyton manning, and get a good O-Line to allow david carr (bless his soul) to try and complete passes...

I'll be shocked if the Texans finish higher than dead last in their division over the next 10 years.

True..although the one thing they've proven they can do consistently well over the years is beat Jacksonville. Can't beat too many other teams, but they've got the Jags' number for some reason.

More than anything, o-line and secondary. The o-line is one of the five worst in the league, and has been their entire existence.

Specifically, we need to upgrade at OT. They're OK at run blocking, but the only "athletic" tackle we have was a rookie who played on the wrong side last year. Sad thing is, unless Joe Thomas falls to us (very doubtful), anyone who'd be left at eighth would be a reach.

Houston's next-biggest need is in the secondary, particularly safety. CC Brown and Glen Earl should be giving a team depth, not starting. LaRon Landry and Reggie Nelson should both be on the board at eight, and even if they both somehow aren't, keep an eye on Michigan CB Leon Hall.

After that, we desperately need depth at RB, some LB's better-suited to a 4-3, and at least one more DE quick off the ball. It also wouldn't hurt to draft a QB somewhere in the middle rounds.

Unless Joe Thomas slips, I think Houston should trade down and get a few picks in the middle-to late-first round. Potentially great RB's and safeties have a habit of slipping farther than franchise OT's and QB's. Get some value picks like Marshawn Lynch, Levi Brown, and LaRon Landry/Reggie Nelson.

The only team I know of that has two first-rounders is the Patriots, and they're too far down to give Houston any value on the draft board, so I'd wait and see if any other team picks one up. If not, see if you can draw interest by offering one of your defensive players (remember, most of their defensive guys were brought in to play in a 3-4 scheme... Shantee Orr and Kailee Wong could generate some interest) for a second- or third-round pick.

Otherwise, see if Thomas slips into a spot that's feasable to trade into. If he falls to sixth, it may be worth making a move.

PS: According to most draft charts, Kevin Kolb should still be there on day two. They may want to consider taking a flyer on him right around the fourth or fifth round. He won't stretch the field like a Jay Cutler or Peyton Manning, but he has above-average arm strength.

Also, my boy Kenny Irons should slide into the third round. He's undersized, doesn't exactly run a 4.3, and isn't as strong as a guy like Ron Dayne, but he's the type of cutback runner that would fit Kubiak's system perfectly.

Finally, I think Justin Warren would be a great pick at MLB. It would allow DeMeco Ryans to slide over to where he belongs at OLB and would give the defense a little more speed. IMO, he's one of the most underrated players in the draft because of how horrible his college defense was. I just saw that NFL Draft Countdown had estimated his 40 speed at 4.9, but he came out of HS running a 4.5. I don't know if he's been invited to the combine, but if nobody gets to see him run before the draft then he's going to fall right into someone's lap. And as someone who's seen just about every home game he's ever played at Kyle, I'm pretty sure he'll run no worse than a 4.6.
