Only 7 teams in NBA history have had a better 50 game start. The Spurs still have 3 championships. The Rockets still have 2 championships. The Mavs still have 0 championships. Hopefully this is the year the Mavs bring one home!

The game was close (4 points) late into the 3rd when the Mavs took over. Dallas showed tremendous depth in this game. The Rockets showed they don't have much. Take Yao and Bonzi out of the lineup and it's a disaster just waiting to happen.

The Mavs are scary good. Very athletic and cause all kinds of mismatches for the Rockets. The Rockets match up much better against the Spurs, hence our record against the Spurs. (Even without Yao)

u r right....the game was close till the end of the 3rd qt despite shooting 33 % from the field.......

the mavs showed their depth and overall talent

i just dont think it should have been that bad.....

van gundy let em go on a 16-0 run b4 he called a timeout....

and honestly......it doesnt really matter if bonzi plays or not b/c he diesnt really get to play much anyway.......its not as if they were missing mcGrady.....

but they do need yao's offense (26 ppg)

and i dont care how good ur team is if they dont make their open shots they wont even be able to beat the celtics

I agree, Dallas is very good and much more athletic than the Rockets. Dallas has the great depth and eventually wore down the Rockets. The Yao-less Rockets just don't match up with the Mavericks. Earlier in the year, Houston and Yao Ming handed Dallas a 31 point loss.

The rockets with Yao won't match up with the mavericks. You swear Houston would of dominated Dallas if they had Yao the past 2 games.

Dallas revenged their 31 point beating they received in Houston. ;)

In the first game, Dallas had no answer for Yao Ming. I wouldn't expect Houston to dominate, but he would definately help even things up for the Rockets. Dallas would be forced to stay big and that doesn't allow them to run all those 6'-7" type athletic players. This slows down the game and that would be more advantageous for the Rockets. Remember, Houston is playing with a 40 year old center.

With Yao 1-0

No Yao 0-2

How does Yao force them to play big? Dallas is 'small' even with Dampier or Diop in.

If it was the suns, then yes it would hurt them since they don't have a true center.

Dallas beat the Rockets in the playoffs two years ago by going small. That was before Yao turned into the offensive player that he is now. The Mavs would struggle to defend Yao. (Like they did at the beginning of the year.)

The Mavs were the better team yesterday. No doubt. Congrats on the win.
