anyways he was also the front man to soundgarden, might know them through this song:
performed acoustic--by chris cornell...

Acoustic Black Hole Sun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=empmmPnRyDk)

and you also might know him through the new--well not so new anymore considering they broke up so band mates to Rage Against the Machine could regroup and Chris could focus on his solo project...
but anyways...

i love him

And Zack was frontman to the most amazing band of the 90s, Rage Against the Machine. Then after a bunch of inner group problems, they broke up and Cornell took Zack's place (or tried to) and formed the somewhat craptacular Audioslave and gave us such horrid tunes as "Original Fire," and "Revelations."

c'mon at least get the story right.

from what I was told by Bobby Schneck who then was in correspondence with Cornell at the time--it happened much like this.

Chris Cornell started working on a solo project for 2003--when thanks to Tom Morello got to talking to Cornell and bam...the remaining members to Rage Against the Machine invited Cornell to make only ONE record, to see if it were to open up the door/minds to the new generation. It was a I scratch your back you scratch mine type of deal--it was made and it happened.

they didnt think audioslave would even last 6 months, let alone however long they did.

In the past year, or well at the beginning of 2006, the promotion for their latest album, was sort of put on hold, and interviews with the band "Audioslave" were sort of pushed aside due to the hectic schedules, when in reality it was Cornell who decided to leave the band to pursue his solo career again--and thus in the summer of 07/Fall of 07 he should have a new record out and should be touring.

:D

theyoefnshow
02-08-2007, 01:10 AM
which led to the (hopefully PERMANENT) reformation of Rage Against the Machine at the Coachella (sp?) show in California in April. God.....I would've bought tickets for that show but a 3 day pass was $250 (too steep for a concert) and since they didn't have the schedule for the headliners at the time (Bjork, Chili Peppers & RATM) I didn't wanna chance just getting a one day pass. My luck I woulda got Bjork. As for Audioslave, the first album should've been it. Shadow of the Sun was awesome.

thatsminty
02-08-2007, 01:31 AM
yeah, however, from what I'm told this whole regrouping with RATM is also a temporary thing--depending on Cornell's departure. As what I'm told about Tom Morello, he seems to work musically well with Cornell, and those two might actually split an album together in the near future--Morello has his own solo project in the works too, but that has been pushed on hold for this whole "re-union"

but, Morello also has been noted to join Cornell in a track--or two depending on schedules once again--for his up and coming new solo record--which shall be awesome.

Although Audioslave was a formed band just for it's time--and for the sake of two old birds wanting to be re-born again in this industry--bring in the old with the new type of ordeal, they had themsevles a good run.

but still, RATM will of course fall tragically like they have before--and of course it won't be a surprise...

:D

theyoefnshow
02-08-2007, 01:36 AM
you see....even IF Rage fails...(which honestly, I could care less if they do a new album) I think the nostalgia trip that would occur from a summer/fall tour would be enough. If I were able to see those guys live just to perform No Shelter live....I would be happy with that.

thatsminty
02-08-2007, 01:38 AM
true, but I dont think they're have an album anytime soon...much like how the old line up for GnR is going to return--the talk about this stuff is always up and down/night and day

all I hope for is Cornell to complete his solo album, and then complete the dates for his solo tour

:D

theyoefnshow
02-08-2007, 01:41 AM
LOL @ the GNR tour......That's basically Cornell getting w/ the Rage guys and calling them Soundgarden. Axl Rose plus a bunch of other guys not named Slash, Izzy & Duff do not = Guns N Roses. With less than a month to go, I'm suprised Chinese Democracy has yet to be pushed back again. Even though I downloaded the whole album like 2 months ago on Ares.

thatsminty
02-08-2007, 01:43 AM
did you read that wrong or you just an idiot?
although I'll go with the latter on that one, you should re-read it

the original GNR line up

it has nothing to do with Chris Cornell joining the likes of GNR
besides, I've been told Slash wishes to be Joe Perry at times..so yeah...

theyoefnshow
02-08-2007, 01:45 AM
no dummy I'm saying that the CURRENT incarnation of Guns N Roses (Axl, Buckethead & co) and calling it "Guns N Roses" is LIKE Cornell joining w/ another group of guys & calling it Soundgarden just because HE (the lead singer) was in the group still. It was a COMPARISON. Groupie.

thatsminty
02-08-2007, 01:49 AM
you're an idiot.

Tom Morello, and Tim C wanted to keep the original name of RATM when Cornell was invited into the group, however he didnt want to damper his good name with a "temporary" band

smart man he is...because well...look at it, four years later and the temporary phrase fades...

as for the whole buckethead thing...that's just stupid, and no one knows Axl other than him and GNR
but GNR is nothing without axl and without slash...together they're the backbone to that name...

Christ Jesus what do you think I am trying to say???? YES Guns N Roses IS AXL, SLASH, IZZY, MATT and DUFF. Anything else is NOT Guns N Roses. Therefore, the guys releasing Chinese Democracy (IMHO) is NOT GNR because only Axl remains.
