NORTH TEXAS ANNOUNCES 2007 FOOTBALL RECRUITING CLASS

DENTON, Texas – North Texas head coach Todd Dodge has announced that 20 players have signed National Letters of Intent to play football for the Mean Green in 2007. Among the class are 18 high school seniors, as well as transfers from the Naval Academy and a junior college. The crop of high school seniors is exclusively from Texas, with seven of them from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Each of the transfers played their high school football in the Lone Star State as well.

Included in the class of 2007 are three sets of high school teammates and six players named to the AP All-state teams. The class brings in a combined 10 state titles and won 47 playoff games last season.

"It is very exciting to announce the 2007 signing class for the North Texas football team," head coach Todd Dodge said. "It has been a whirlwind for my staff and myself over the past four weeks but we have worked very hard to ensure that the future of North Texas football is in good hands with the signing of these 20 young men. We knew that we could get quality football players to come to North Texas, but we wanted to make sure that we also signed young men with character and that is exactly what we did. We addressed needs at every position and we believe that this group has the ability to be something truly special."

ya thats what the rumor around the unt message boards, and rivals has been saying..

and interesting someone mentioned about walkons because there have been rumors of a couple of former SLC players that sat out last year who are going to try and walkon such as Trevor Ashlock (starting safety for SLC 2005, not alot of other info on him) and Michael Boydston 6-3 250 4.8 DE. He made first team 5-A all-state 2005 and had 55 tackles (48 solo), 8 tackles for a loss, 10 sacks and one interception his senior year.
