Soon it will be track season. Let's hear who will be the fastest, strongest, and most agile boys and girls this season.

Anybody got a faster stable of "thorobreds" than Cuero?

Who will turn in the fastest times in:

100m
200m
400m
800m
1600m
4x100
4x400

What about the Sweetwater kid? I'm gonna try to get down to either the Texas Relays or the State Meet.

Yep, Shawnbrey will be hard to beat in the 100m. What ever happened to that kid from Cuero last year who was clocked at 10.1 ? How about Skye Green of Sweetwater--has he gotten faster and more determined this year?

people get clocked at 10.1's and 10.2's frequently until they get to the regional meets and state meets where the clocking system is more accurate. And plus there is a little more pressure to perform!!!

Skye Green is runing some indoor track. He ran in an invitational at Texas Tech a couple of weeks ago and placed second (to a college kid from UTA) in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.43 sec. He will run again in mid February at another indoor meet in Lubbock.

LOOK FOR BELLVILLE TO MAKE ANOTHER RUN AT THE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP. THEY HAVE WON IT THE PAST 8 OR 9 YEARS IN A ROW AND I'M SURE COACH WHEELER WILL HAVE THEM UP TO CONTINUE THAT STREAK THIS YEAR.

ALSO I HEARD BELLVILLE WAS RE-MODLING THE TRACK AND INSTALLING A RED TRACK. ANYBODY KNOW ANYTHING BOUT THIS? AND HAS ANYBODY SEEN A RED TRACK? DOES IT LOOK GOOD?

Bellville may make a run at the district title but Giddings will win it.

Bill Lawhorn should win if not compete for the state title for the 400, and they should have some decent relays, w/ Lawhorn, Fitzhenry, Bradley, and many others who could fill and compete.
Bill has a little brother who is a fish but can run very fast, competed at the practice meet last year against high school kids.

The only weakness Giddings has is the field events.

completely agreed buffalo206, boys running events and girls long distance will be strong points...jarmon went to state in shot last year and we had a couple girls go to regionals in shot and discus also...

Shawnbrey will make it three straight 100 meter titles this spring. I don't know that he'll do it, but I'm wondering how close he could possibly get to the national high school record in the 100 this year. I think the record is 10.15.

I'll be interested to see how Miami is going to take advantage of his speed in the open field. I think he'll have a decent shot to get on the field as a freshman on punt and kickoff returns and possibly even some time as a slot receiver in certain situations. I can see him filling the same role that kid from Florida filled this year for the Gators.

THATS AN AWFULLY BOLD STATMENT TO MAKE SINCE BELLVILLE HAS WON DISTRICT LIKE 8 YEARS IN A ROW. THEY MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT.

But they haven't been in the Giddings district for the last eight years have they.
Giddings had been making a push for dstrict for years and broke last year when they won the district title.

I think Bellville was at the Caldwell meet last year and if i recall ya'll came in atleast second because we won it.
