How many of you get Jury summons from Nueces County? I swear they have a bunch of morons over there that cannot read a map. Over the last 15 years, they have sent me a Jury Summons five times. EVERY time I tell them I live in San Pat. One would think after FIVE times they'd learn where the county line is.

I'm going to start ignoring these people and throwing their stupid summons away.

I'm afraid to even say this, but in the 5 years I've been back here I have only been summoned for jury duty once.

Yeah, but was the summons from Nueces County? I could understand a summons from San Patricio, that's where I live. But Nueces??? The really weird part is that I have never lived in or voted in Nueces County, ever.

Yep, I'm sure. All five times have been Nueces County. Ask your boss if I can sue for harrassment.:D

Oh wow! I just talked with a Judge friend. I don't have it so bad. He told me his court once summoned a man that had been dead for years. The man's widow called and was quite upset. Apparently, it's done by a computer in Austin. He tried to fix it by calling the right people in Austin. They told him they would fix it, but the next year, it showed up again. Poor lady. He trashes them now.

He also advised not to do this.

Did you go for the first one? If you did, you can claim an exemption.

i went and talked to Joel, and John Gilmour, who was the trial lawyer last time i served, and told them to give someone else a chance... they both laughed and sent me home

Yeah, Joel would do that. He's pretty cool. Unfortunately, some Judges aren't even close to that cool.

It's not what you know, it's who you know. I've never been summoned for jury duty. My wife was summoned for Federal Court in Corpus Christi, but she was near the end of her last pregnancy and was excused. My 19yo brother in law has been summoned twice already.
