It's a 4:3 projector and I'm fine with that. It does do 16:9 but it basically cuts the top and bottom to stretch out the picture. You can't tell, but this is a 3000 lumen projector. It's bright enough for daytime viewing. I can't wait for tomorrow!

I used to not be either. They have improved immensely though. When it came down to it I couldn't justify spending 3 to 4 grand+ on the plasma or LCD I wanted. I have invested about $1650 for the projector setup I have(projector, roof mount, 50' component cables and high-contrast grey projector screen). That's about half or less on what I wanted to spend on a nice HD TV. There is virtually no fade from the side with the screen I have. Having a brighter projector allows you to have that.
The main drawback is having to replace the bulb every 2000-2500 hours. In my opinion it is worth it. Seeing clear 720p or 1080i on a 10 foot screen is a sight to see. Playing the XBox on it with my son and some of his friends is priceless.:) The S-video signal from our X-box is very clean and looks great. If you have a large room in which you can take advantage of for something like this I would highly recommend it.
.
And yes, the Spurs would look better on this but *ack ack* they need to play some better BB!!! :) :D

What brand/model is it?

Why did you get a 3,000 lumens? Everywhere I read said these are more for presenting projects, not for watching TV.

Why did you change your original question?:p
Did you not read earlier where I said I need a "brighter projector" because my room is bright or my screen is a high contrast screen(sorry I didn't mention that before)?:D
I have a Dell 2400. It plays TV and movies just fine. The one bad thing that professionals said was against it was "video noise", but I haven't seen it yet. It looks great to me and a few guest here tonight.:)
lol
I went to check out our local block party tonight and they had a projector set up against their garage wall. It sucked and was smaller. I didn't tell them that, of course...:)
