Basketball Bands - What Happened To Them?

Back in the 80's and 90's everybody had them.

Now I'm shocked when I see a team have a band play during a basketball game.

What happened?

They bring so much energy to the Gym...

My high school did it for awhile back in the mid 90's when they would use the jazz band. I remember Waco U. would use their drum corps during basketball games in the 90's. They would put on a heck of a halftime performance! I don't know if they still do or not though, but they should if they don't.

I wish Madison would use their band during basketball games. They already have a great atmosphere at their games, but it would be nice to see the band perform during the games. I would enjoy hearing the band play The Jeffersons theme song since they already play it during timeouts fairly often at home games. :)

Even the small school in the movie Hoosiers had a band at the basketball game and they played well too.

I don't attend many basketball games....but I don't think I have ever seen a band at a basketball game!

i think there is a reason that Columbia's band doesn't play during the games.....
