Don't know anything about the first three, but I'll definitely agree on the last two, and thanks for including Julian. (We might be nominating another one later)

Might have to include a unknown back from sinton along with julian Ruiz. Bubba Heard. Everman's rb Theo Miller could be top back in 3A.

Matt, your being very humble about your hometeam's guy, He should be no. 1. Miller is a great back, very versatile...
For Ruiz, I feel that's pretty close. I hope Bubba's name will be in the future consideration of such rankings. He showed alot of promise last year. Isn't his real name Nehemiah (or something like that?)

Running backs!!! Now you're speakin' my language. I think Id have to switch Massey and Patino, and maybe add Hewitt from Breckenridge.

Jacket...I think that Hewitt from Breck transferred to Sweetwater (look out!). I'll try not to be too much of a homer, but the kid from Ballinger (Antonio Posey) had over 1700 yards rushing last year as a sophomore.

Wow! That's pretty good in anybody's book.

Perry Carrington had a very impressive season for Barbers Hill playing injured and having to share time with another all state RB. He still went for around 1200 and a nice chunk of receiving yards also, expect big things from this guy in 2002.

I dunno if I am being humble...Theo is a GREAT back...but he shares the ball with a lot of other good backs so naturally his numbers aren't as great as the other guys...last year he played in 13 games and "only" got around 1300 yards...(he did have 19 TD's though) but he will share time with a guy that had 800 yards and 700 yards..plus a QB that ran for 700...so his numbers won't be as great as the other guys..BUT in a big game..Theo showed he can step up...

Richuel Massey is going to do some real damage. The guy is a monster. Patino isn't so great, I'd put that boy from Vernon on there but didn't he get expelled or something.

Jasper has some nifty backs, so does Newton..... Matt Peebles, Bridge City Tailback was hurt most of last year- separated shoulder, concussion, assorted other injuries. He had an unbelieveable rushing record as a Sophmore and mostly played Safety this past season, while nursing acute injuries. He has managed to get offers from a host of D1 schools that saw him play defense! This coming season he is well, and at 6'3" and 210#- he promises to lead the offensive charge. He lead B.C. to a district track meet Championship in the hurdles and 200 Meter. I think he also finished 2nd in the broad jump. He is an extremely shifty, fast, agile D1 type football player. Want to met him, he lives in the BC weight room all summer.

Another Miller, (Patrick I think) from Burnet will light it up this year, I think he'll push 2,000 yards this season. He's not huge, but he's put together pretty good, and has very good speed, and he'll be running behind a very good line.

Yes, Jasper has a few good backs returning:

Attempts Yards Avg TD's
Jason McQueen 259 1680 6.5 20
Rodriquez
Mitchell QB 159 731 4.6 13
Marlon Cook 56 423 7.5 6
James Bass 16 124 7.8 1

And these stats were compiled against mostly 4a schools running an offense they were still learning. Jason McQueen is a good one, selected MVP for the Beaumont, Golden Triangle, all classifications including 5a. And watch out for Cook.

I don't know about being in the top 5 but from those mathis Pirates, there is a rb that will have speed. and that is Juan Vera. Coach put him in during the playoffs and he did a great job. yall will be hearing from him this year in football. I think he is a sophmore, not that sure. Not only him also Desmond Sanders will be a great impact for that backfield. Be hearing out for these two guys, not to mention the rest of the other backs.

Perry Carrington just got clocked at a 4.34 in the 40. The potential is definetly there.
