RC has 82 seniors and juniors in football off-season at this time.
We had 8 sophomore starters in '06.
I'm not sure what it means except that this is the largest group of Srs/Jrs we've ever had. I hope that we can translate these numbers into a great season.

I dont buy a huge deal into huge numbers. You can have 300 kids come out for football but if you have no talent you still have a bad team. Yes big numbers mean more of a chance to find tallent but I am just saying big numbers dont always mean big success. But I hope it all works for yall in royse city.

RC had plenty of offensive talent last year...and it's all returning this year. I'm looking forward to seeing them play in 2007.

One advantage of numbers we've seen is that for the past few years we play kids on only one side of the ball

Our offensive players have a full tank of gas each time they start a possesion and the same for the defensive players

I remember a Royse City team in the early 90's where we were down to about 20 players on varsity.......believe me, I prefer to have 82.

I understand my junior and senior year on varsity i think we had something like 36-40 on varsity.

RC will be, or should be a strong playoff contender come this Fall.
Kid that split time between WR and QB is a stud, and he is coming back along with a slew of other good young athletes.

What is the enrollment at Royse City? Are they usually Div 1 or 2? When is the new stadium gonna be ready?

I think we won 49-0 or maybe that was Crandall. Anyway, I don't think you guys got a first down until midway through the second half. Tough times back then...but the future looks bright.

from the viewpoint of you Forney guys, RC has never done well, and that's because we could never beat Forney, but we may get back to playing again soon so maybe the Dogs can have something to shoot for.

in the early 90s we were bad, but remember we had just moved up from 2A. "87, '88, and '89 we won district then moved up and weren't good again till late 90s. RC did have a 35 game undefeated streak in 56, 57, and 58 in class B, but class B could only advance to regional. After going to the semis in 04 and the quarterfinals in 06, I really think we have a legitimate shot in 07. RC is the largest in 10-3A so we will be Div. 1 (along with Gilmer and LE probably). Our enrollment is about 1000.

we are selling the bonds for the new stadium on thursday, so construction should start in the spring.

I don't think there's any question about what side of the ball needs to improve for RC to be a top five team next year

You always think RC is alot higher then what they really are.

RC could shake up 10-4a. Heath, Terrel, Greenville, Forney, RC, WM and Poteet could all be one district. Crandall might be 4a to by then.

what are they really then?

i think they were around #9 at the end of this year, don't know that they should've been ranked above the likes of wimberley, hondo, cuero, WO-S, celina, Liberty Hill, Giddings, Robinson, or LE (although they came close). Gilmer would be up there too.
