Yeah! hehehehe Watching kids run in circles. Wait hold on.........Turn left at all 4 corners, jump over anything in your way, and dont stop until the finish line. Isn't that more standaround than standaround coaches do?

Track is for the off-season athletes.

Standaround is for the non-athletes.

Our standaround sponsor is on a diet cause he can't get into those tight pants.

anybody can throw a baseball....it takes a lot of technique and skill to throw the shot and discus well.

:hand: Not everyone can thow a baseball. If they could you wouldn't have anyone to throw those rocks & fling those saucers. :)

How do you teach someone not to get dizzy when turning/running in circles??

But it takes even more technique and skill to hit a round object with another round object squarely.

And name another sport where the defense has the ball and outnumbers the offense 9-1.

give a 5 year old a bat and ball and he will hit the ball. Give a 5 year old a discus or shot put and he will have no idea how to throw it correctly no matter how much you teach him. But he can hit a ball with a bat.

Not everybody can hit the ball every time you throw it to him...go officiate a few 8-10 yr old baseball games...and you will be PRAYING that every kid can make contact with the pitch.

Not everybody can throw a baseball WELL. Plus...the accuracy that's required in making a throw is MUCH greater than when competing in shot and discus. Hitting a target that's at most a few feet wide is a bit harder than the very wide fiield that a thrower aims for.

Other Reasons I hate Baseball!

1) Baseball is a sport in which EVERY fan in the stands believe they can coach and in most cases is a better coach then the coach himself.

2) Coaches or managers wear a uniform??? Dont really understand that at all!

3) A negative comment is made after EVERY PITCH, 100% of the time, towards the umpires! Can't stand that!

MORE TO COME!

We will be okay. Realignment didn't do me any favors, throwing us into the district with Odem and George West. Also, 10 of the top 25 teams in the state are in our region.

We will be in Pantherland on February 27.

In looking at the archives I think you are referring to the 1998 team that lost to Nederland 8-3 in the Region Semifinal. Nederland lost in the next round to Brenham. In 1999, WC lost in the area round to New Caney.

In 1998, Sinton lost to Liberty 6-1 in the state semis and Liberty lost to West 9-7.

In 1999, Sinton lost to Yoakum in the Region semi-final and Yoakum made it all the way to state only to lose to China Spring.

10 Reasons Baseball Is a Weird Sport

1. If a batter fails two-thirds of the time, they're still considered an excellent batter. It's too bad this standard isn't applied to everything else in life.

2. It is legal to "steal" in this game. This is, perhaps, a questionable example for children.

3. If you aren't such a good hitter, you can have a pinch hitter bat for you. If you aren't such a fast runner, you can have someone--a pinch runner--come in and run for you. At what point, you might wonder, is a team entirely comprised of "pinch" players?

4. There's a rule preventing pitchers from spitting on the ball. They can spit anywhere else they like, apparently.

5. If a batter walks with the bases loaded, he is credited with an RBI (Run Batted In). That's right: even though he didn't hit the ball.

6. The game is played on dirt and grass, but if the ball gets dirty, it is replaced with a new clean ball.

7. If a batter accidentally hits the catcher when swinging, it's the catcher's fault, even if the catcher gets injured. The batter is awarded a base. The catcher gets an apology, if he's lucky.

8. The coaches and managers wear the same uniforms as the players.

9. When a pitcher walks a batter, the batter jogs to first base. Incongruous, but it is a nice show of effort.

10. The 7th-inning stretch makes baseball the only sport where spectators must take part in calisthenics.

For more about this strange and wonderful game, see Encarta Encyclopedia's baseball article.
:cheerl:  :crazy1: Baseball and Football are the only sports i follow regulary. Rangers and Cowboys Champions in 2007:)

My little nephew got his 1st wiffleball set for christmas. We tried to teach him how to play but it took him all of two seconds to figureout it was wayyyy more fun to sneakup & tag guys in their sac.
Many of my kin were sitting gingerly that day....
Good times indeed.....

The stand aroundsponsers are sad today because of the rain last night and the forecast of rain for the next 2 days.

But on a bright note they can go in the gym and hit whiffle balls.

LOL. Do you think we could get a daily report throughout the season? It was just as good this morning as it was yesterday.
