Either Dallas or Phoenix will win the west, but I wouldnt count any of the ones on that list out, for winning it all.

I think the suns will. Knowing Mike Dan'toni he will continue to play only the same 6 people 30+ minutes a game late into the season and only getting 7 players time on the court. While a team like Dallas and Spurs play 10 players every night.

Emerson, i think that is the reason they will falter in the playoffs. Dallas and San Antonio are both deeper than that and will force the tempo down.

Heck, dallas even outscored them when they needed to last year.

Even with Stoudamire, they are vulnerable. Especially if any one of their top six get injured, which is very likely throughout the course of an entire season.

I'm picking Dallas to win the regular season title...the suns have been white-hot lately and have only passed Dallas by a game...they will come back to earth a bit, but Dallas has been amazing since their 0-4 start...if it wasn't for that start, they'd be on pace to tie the Bulls 72-10 record!!!!

Yeah, Dallas is built more for long term success than phoenix

If it wasn't for that playoff loss this year, Cuero would have won 13 games

the suns won today 115-100 over Cleveland, stretching their winning streak to 17 games. I hope it ends soon-i don;t want to have to be rooting for the spurs on thursday!

Not that they'll win it, but Utah should replace Denver in this poll. The Nuggets are barely over .500 and they won't get any better once Carmelo and Iverson realize there is only one ball:eek:

Phoenix could also say what if? Phoenix lost six of their first nine games and have since gone 33-2. They had a 15 game winning streak and are currently on a 17 game winning streak. In between those streaks were 2 close losses to Washington and Dallas. Three Phoenix players missed last second shots that would of won the Washington game in regulation. In defense of the Suns, they had been snowed in Denver for 2 days and had to take a 3 hour bus trip to catch their chartered flight. They arrived in Washington just 2 hours before tipoff. Two games later, they lost on a last second shot by Nowitzki. With a little luck, Phoenix would be on a 35 game winning streak.

Barring any injuries, I think it will go down to the wire between Dallas and Phoenix. Houston could make a late push with a healthy Yao, but making up 8 games on these 2 teams would be almost impossible. Dallas has the deepest team, but I worry about their lack of a quality big man. Should be a very exciting finish to the wire!

I want Dallas to win but I say Pheonix goes into the playoffs seeded #1 but Nash as always will be so worn down by then that they won't make it to the finals. Then Dallas takes the finals in 4 games of whatever sorry Eastern Conference team they play.

I love how yall rule out the only team on the list to win a title game recently (ok, the Lakers, but not in the Shaqless era). Me, I go with those who know how to win the big one, not once, nor twice, but thrice. Go Spurs Go!
