Sounds obsessive/compulsiveWonder how much those new astro-play fields cost. Perhaps a $50,000 dollar scoreboard isn't that obsessive compulsive afterall. Just my take.

Scoreboards are usually donated anyway.

$50K does not sound like alot, depends on what kind .... Forney spent $200K, the video scoreboards at Hanby & Memorial in Mesquite were $750K - each

I think forney should of spent the extra $500k for a video replay

Burnet's $50,000.00 scoreboard was paid for with donations.

I'm impressed that Jasper now has a BIG 25 second clock in each endzone. What a huge help to the QBs.

Hmmm, it seems that spending that much for a scoreboard IS usual... I'm gunna see how much ours was...

It would be nice to have a video screen to watch some of the replays on... (wish in one hand...and ---- in the other and I alrady know which one will fill up first).

typically, a local business (es) will purchase the scorboard for an agreed upon length of advertiseing. then, the school will be able to sell ad space on sections located on, under beside over etc.

bottom line is...a good scoreboard will be a cash cow for the ad that knows how to work the system. :D

Last year during the playoffs, McGee kept running out of time and we kept getting penalized for "delay of game". (Yes, even with the help of 25 second clocks!) It got to the point that the fans started counting down(loud screaming) when the clock hit about 9.8.7.6.5. etc... Some of us have even taken to doing it this year as a precautionary measure.

So anyway- when we got this new scoreboard this year, we also got new 25 second clocks(big ones). They were donated by Chicken Express- everyone keeps saying that we are waiting for it to hit about 3 seconds on the clock and the chicken will pop up to say, "Throw McGee throw!"
