I signed up with Awesomenet with the turbo excelerator for $14.95/mo.

I'm running at 24.0 Kbps the turbo is supposed to help the web pages load faster. We'll see....

All that does is lower the image quality on webpages so they will load faster...Hope it works though.

Odd, I'm on Awesomenet and get 48.0 kbps with just the normal service. Guess either having an ATT line or being in the city helps (ha, as if Beeville is such a city. :p)

You prolly have fiber optic phone lines. We don't.....:( It makes all the difference. Hell if my connection was that fast I would be in hog heaven.

:) 2nd and 3rd leg will be competing again this year:p

DU_STUD - what does the T stand for in T3? does it connect directly through a phone line or how does it connect? I've always wondered that

I've always wondered that im guess ing the t stands for t-carrier...a digital transmission service from a common carrier. it originally was used for voice, obviously, but as its use for data grew it changed to be used to create point-to-point private data networks. just my guess, someone correct me.

1st , 2nd and 3rd will be competing this year along with D.R.---- this was 2 years ago when the first 3 leg's were all sophmores that's Fabian on the first leg. Domingo ran last year in place of Fabian after he got hurt so it's going to be a dog fight for that fourth spot between a few of the kid's in the program .

Feb. 24 first Track Meet in Bastrop

that sucks they can't get fiber optic, /dsl or something out there for your area - while it is an inconvience for "John Q Public" you are correct that businesses most likely are by-passing the area due to lack of high speed internet. Hopefully something soon will be done and you'll be "up to speed' in no time :)

Verizon is the phone company out here and they don't do squat.

When we worked between George West and Freer, waaaaayyyy out in the boonies, the phone coop out there has DSL. Everybody could have DSL. Even if your were miles off the highway. So if they can do it, I know a big company like Verizon can do it.

Believe it or not. It has worked really well. I haven't been kicked off and the pages are loading better than they were with my Cingular air card. :D Couple that with the fact that the ISP only charges me $14.95 against $100 for the air card and I'm happy!
