Newton vs. China Spring

Looks like Newton will be playing China Spring in Conroe Saturday around noon or 1:00 PM. Rumor is that China Sping wouldn't play us in Huntsville which might have been a closer trip for them?

Anyone's thoughts on the game?

I hear China Spring has a big passing game but Newton will have the usual smothering defense.

I sure hope Newton shows up for this one, they should've lost to sealy. That really says something good about your team when you can fumble the ball two times in the 4th and still manage to pull off the win. If Newton can keep control of the ball, I think they can pull this one off.

Sealy had several opportunties to score and were effectively shut down.

This is the first game in the last five games where anyone has scored on Newton including Bridge City which is still winning in the Div. I 3A playoffs.

Why don't some of you guys get a life? Sealy was a tough game and we squeaked by. China Spring is going to be tough too. They don"t get any easier at this point. Support your team without talking trash and bragging. Don't give the other team ammunition. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

If you can't "brag" on your hometown team who should you "brag" on?

"Brag" on how they play their hearts out and play bigger teams each week. Don't jump on the bandwagon after they make the playoffs and tell other people what they're going to do to them. If you're a player, you know how hard it is without someone else tooting a horn for you. Just chill out, enjoy and don't make waves.

Effectively shut down??? Sealy put up 25 points and 365 yards of offense; I don't think that qualifies as being shut down. Both teams played with a lot of heart. For example: Sealy's #30-Emeal Andrus (Soph-RB) re-broke his collar bone midway in the 1st quarter, but finished the game. Give both teams credit, and listen to Backwoods, keep your mouth shut and get ready for China Spring.

Sealy deserves a lot of credit,they hung in there and almost pulled out a win.Logan kept his cool even after all the fumbles,wasn't that a beautiful pass to Joe that put us back ahead.How many of you are going to stay & watch the Jasper Game?

The 3rd round hasn't been good to Newton the last couple of yrs. I think Newton is due: Newton by 21.

This is one of the best teams I have watched in several years. The whole team plays with heart each game. They have a winning combination with a great coaching staff, a quarterback who is a junior and plays better than most seniors, several running backs and recievers, a line that's almost impossiable to penetrate, one of the best kickers in the game and a great defense. The win over Sealy, a very good team, was a wake up call. Newton will win it all.

If Newton plays their best against China Springs' best, Newton should win it. I am ready for the game, but I hope this rain stops.

Sealy does deserve some credit. They blocked good and took advantage of newton's mistakes. The kept the ball away from the offense but they could only contain our offense they couldn't stop us.

Don't take Newton lightly! Bridge City shut out everyone in District EXCEPT Newton, out-scoring opponents 137-32, and the 32 all belonged to NEWTON! They shut US out, and down cold! Their defense is a SWARM! Lucky for Sealy that Newton gave them a couple of turn-overs to keep it a good game.

Newton COULD _ GO _ ALL _ THE _ WAY! And THIS Bridge City Fan hopes they do!
