just a thought...but typically a white person from anywhere tends to refer to themselves by the country that they are from. I'm English, French, American, Italian, Australian, South African, etc. Continent-based titles are uncommon.

No
Look at South Africa
There are many whites there who have been there for so many centuries that they can claim to be african

Wouldn't it be nice if we thought of different skin colors, just like we think of different hair colors or eye colors.....so if there were two white skinned people, one black skinned person and one yellow skinned person in a row, we would look at them and simply think,.."there sits three dark haired people and one blonde"....wouldn't that really, really be awesome! Think about it. :)

Yah, but you can joke about blondes being ditzy or something (sterotypes) and all will have a laugh... you can't joke about a SKIN color and get away with it...

folks in this country can't take jokes...

I always thought the term african- american was meant to show heritage like english, irish, jamican etc. I suppose they use that term because sadly most blacks aren't entirely sure of what part of africa their descendants were from.

To be honest, I believe a suspension or something would have been good...

They are required to report when firearms are discharged but they didn't because they believe they did not injure the runaway...

so yah, some kind of fine or suspension was in order...

But offering the drug-smuggler amnesty if he would testify against the two? That is complete bs...

How about this, If we cut each and everyone that represents a nationality and they bleed Red, we call them Human Beings. If we cut someone and the Bleed any other color we shoot the hell out of them all together and look for more Aliens. Bottom lines Folks, it's just like my Captain said on the USS La'Salle AGF-3, If the ship was hit by a Mine, and the ship was on fire, while sinking, you were trapped down below, and all of a sudden a hand reaches down thru the fire and smoke to rescue you, are you going to take time to look at what color the hand is before you grab it?
I seriously need each and every one of you who responded to this post to ask yourself the question above.

Personally, I'm just an American. Well, first a Texan, then an Ameican. I was born here. My parents were born here. Their parents were born here. Their parents were born here. I think I have to go back like five generations to find relatives who were natively Mexican, likely when the Texas/Mexico border was much further north. Its kind of scary to think of how indigenous my family has been to the coastal bend area, and Mathis in particular. The families of both my mother and father have been in this area for the past three generations. Weird to think that we're still compelled to stay close.

My point?

Stop labeling yourself as Nationality-American unless you or at least your parents were born in said nation.
