Bay City... it is said like "Bay Site-ee".... jk

I will not spell out how I first said Decatur... I said it to Gsquared once... he says "HUHH?"

Jourdanton, I hear people pronounce that wrong...

And dear lord the arguement I got in with a co-work about how to pronounce "Buda"... it's not the fat man, it's pronounced "B-you-duh"

Also, Blanco... some pronounce it like someone speaking spanish would... but it's as simple as it looks... "Blank-O"

Tiny little Miami up in the panhandle is pronounced My-Am-Uh. There are also some locals that pronounce Iowa Park as I-way Park. Haven't figured that one out yet.

Waxahachie is pronounced Woks-a-hatchie, not Wax

my wife laughed at me much for saying it wrong, as it is her home town.

Just say it with a lot of distaste in your voice. That is what we do in Bridgeport! :D

I would throw Alvord in there. Almost everyone who is not from there calls it ALVOID... just like some kind of Yankee. I just want to look at them and say... "Where is the I in it? AlvoRd!!!!!"

I used to work with a guy from Colorado City. He went to school with Don Maynard and they had some saying about living there. It started: "Colorado City, two stores, two whores, and a blacksmith; -- miles from Sweatwater, asphalt all the way......" I dont remember the rest.

He told me that Maynard was a plumber during the off season (football back then was not as lucrative as it is now). He asked Maynard why he picked plumbing and he said that learning a pro playbook was a lot of work but with plumbing you only had to remember two things:

1) Pipe don't stretch.

2) Sh_t don't run uphill.
